My name is Douglas Johnson. I am president and executive producer of Entertainment Plus Productions, Inc. I work with the highest caliber of talent and production staff on a consistent basis. I believe that there isn’t a higher caliber of a producer than Evan Grey. I have been lucky enough to work with Evan on many events in Los Angeles, The USA, and around the world.

It was quite clear to me that from the moment we met, we would not only be fantastic working partners, but also great friends. Evan has a way of making an event seem effortless. Her vast knowledge of all aspects of event production makes her a driving force for events. She gives each event 100%…and then some. She mesmerizes the production team with her passion, knowledge, communication ability, and teamwork.

Audiences never know what happens backstage. It’s like a magical force that makes it all seem effortless. That force is Evan.

I would be thrilled to work with her in the future, and consider anyone else who gets to observe Evan’s talent in person to be very lucky.

They say that God is in the details.  If you know Evan Grey, you know it’s she who’s in the details, large and small.  That’s how production gets done.   And it’s not for the weak-willed or, for that matter, for those who value a lot of sleep.

I worked with Evan on a number of auto show press events for General Motors; think opening a movie is complex?  Behind every new vehicle launch you’ll find millions of dollars of research and development, Design, and marketing plans  — all spent for the  potential blockbuster new car.  Like all high-stake gambits, the launch of a new vehicle is fraught with politics, showmanship, theatrics and do or die mentalities.  Plus, you’re revealing the car in front of a global media audience, all of whom are pointing thousands of cameras and microphones at the stage.  It’s like pulling up your shirt and hoping the scars have healed.  Moreover, the automotive press corps is a one of the oldest, bitchiest press corps around.  So it’s gotta be right; if it’s not, it’ll still be broadcast all over the world to people who care about such things.  That’s why we had Evan handling it.  Because she recognized and executed the level of detail necessary for such events. And she handled the clients deftly. No small feat.    If you’re lucky enough to know her or have worked with her then you know she demands perfection.  You also know she’s got a kickin’ sense of humor that pulls the whole team through.  And she’s a finisher.  Show is over? Fine.  But now a new set of details need attending to.  Who’s gonna check the timesheets and reconcile the budget?  Well, probably me or you, actually – but Evan is gonna check them twice so they better be right.

Detroit was lucky to have had Evan for as long as we did.  Alas, she gave all this up for sunny California and saner clients.  Sigh. The nerve. But every time I stand on the stage, right before show time for the latest vehicle reveal, I  think ‘what would Evan do right now?’  Then I laugh, ‘cause that’s what she would have done.  See, God is in the small details too. And I’d had no sleep either, just like Evan. I reckon she’d be proud.

I have had the distinct pleasure and honor of working closely with Evan Grey in the past few years; she is the producer of my dreams and I can’t imagine working with anyone better in the high-stress world of producing corporate events. Evan and I were production “partners” for diverse projects in unique venues, so each project had their own distinct challenges and compressed timelines, but the most important aspect to understand about working with Evan is that when she says she will make something happen, it happens. Evan always over-delivers and astounds those who are on the receiving end. Evan is all about understanding your program and recommending solutions and treatments that are within budget while supporting the overall visions of the project. From coordinating all of the AV, talent and all the elements of a live, main-stage presentation to planning and executing the most sophisticated F&B presentations or building an off-site dining extravaganza in a bare parking lot, Evan is “The Gal” to have as part of your team.

Evan Grey is:

  • Creative & Passionate about producing stunning results
  • A dynamic leader
  • A behind-the-scenes-on-the-headset-crack-the-whip director
  • The best production guru/go-to/solution oriented person you could find
  • No nonsense yet always a pleasure to work with
  • A producer who works like a “man” but communicates like a “woman,” which means that she connects the dots, closes the loop and gets the job done with style
  • The producer who will not make promises that she can’t keep
  • The producer who can take the vision and produce the results

I was so fortunate to meet Evan Grey when General Motors brought her in to produce an event here a few years back. Did she make us shine!

We had quite a few challenges to face with the myriad entities involved with the event and Evan sailed through all of them with such professionalism and grace under pressure. Her knowledge and understanding of every intricate detail involved with producing an event made my life easy knowing that the clients would get the final result they envisioned (even if they didn’t know how to get there themselves). The event proved to be such a success, the client came back the next year and so did Evan.

It is such a pleasure to work with a producer like Evan. She’s detailed, precise, quick witted, fun and has a back-up plan for everything! She and her staff work seamlessly with my studio staff. In fact, I’d love to give her the office next to mine.

Producing an event is just like doing a live television show. You have one take and that’s it. Fortunately for all my clients who will use Evan, their “show” will be perfect each time.
